About Us

Hi there, and welcome to

OT on the Hill!

OT on the Hill was created in August, 2019 by two doctoral interns and their residency mentor. We shared a mutual passion for occupational therapy, advocacy, leadership, and program and policy development. We welcome you to follow along in our journey on the Hill, and look forward to future thought provoking discussions!*

Mission

To educate about and increase awareness of policies affecting occupational therapy and the people and populations we serve, and to inspire occupational therapists to engage, get involved, and attend to policy changes that affect practice.

Vision

A world where occupational therapy professionals have knowledge and understanding of why policy matters and are active in their community, advocating for occupational therapy and the populations we serve.

Values

Equity and Inclusion

We fight for health equity, social justice, and inclusion in the face of inequality and health disparities.

Integrity

We speak up for what is right and just, and use humility in our call for action.

Honesty and Authenticity

We are upfront in our initiative for truth and understanding.

Leadership in Action

We go beyond the call of duty in our work. We prioritize cultivating inspiration and motivation.

Evidence-Based Science

We advocate for the use of valid and reliable research in our own work, in the formulation of policy, and in clinical practice.

The Courage to Advocate

We are not afraid to use our voice and push boundaries.
